EA Airdrop - Authentic Audio - Recording the weapons
Saturday, 12 May 2007

Image

EA BlackHat has been spamming our inbox lately and we're not complaining.  The newest Airdrop demonstrates how audio is recorded.   Makes me think back to the first MOHA Summit when we had a chance to fire most of these weapons (shhhh quiet in the bus <-private joke).  This video is a must watch!

MOH: Airborne Developer Diary #1 - Start Anywhere
Friday, 11 May 2007

Image

One of the features that has MOH Airborne standing out from previous games is "Start Anywhere" as players can parachute and land anywhere on the battlefield.  Gone are the days of linear gameplay in favor of dynamic warfare just as it would have unfolded during the war.  This is a huge step for single player gaming and Gamespot has reported all of the details of this innovative feature.  Follow the link below for all the details as well as new screenshots, map overview, and even a video demonstrating Start Anywhere.

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Hits Shelves
Wednesday, 09 May 2007

Image

To kickoff our Tech News section, we would like to report the release of the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme CPU Cooler.  There seems to be a whole lot of buzz in our forums these days as many of our regulars are in the planning stages of their new builds, ready to pull the trigger on hardware that keeps up with the competition and the resource demands of today/tomorrow's games, myself included.  For those of you that fall into this category or even those looking for the top of the line air cooled HSF, don't pass the Ultra-120 eXtreme which has been rumored as the coolest of the pack even surpassing the performance of the Tuniq Tower 120, Zalman 9500, and the Extreme's kid brother, the Ultra-120.  With 2 additional heatpipes (6 total) and the right 120mm fan to match, overclockers have yet another option to keep their systems running not only cooler than the rest, but surprisingly quiet as well.

Medal of Honor Airborne Community Summit - Part II
Tuesday, 08 May 2007

Image

On May 16th and 17th, AHGN will be returning to EA Los Angeles to get a better look at the progress EA has made with Airborne since our first visit last year.  This time around, we'll be given the opportunity to get some hands-on time with the Single Player component.  Last year's summit proved that EA wanted to get the community involved in the early stages of development and we have been informed that this visit will be no different.  We will be given the opportunity to participate in roundtable Q&A discussions with the developers regarding SP and the current state of the game.

When the time is right, AHGN will post all the details accumulated from the 2 summits for viewing, until then please be patient.  As always, we would like your input and if you have any questions you would like answered regarding Medal of Honor Airborne, don't hesitate to post them in our forums.  This visit will not feature any multiplayer information, therefore keep all questions/comments related to SP.

 Updates to follow!!!

EA Airdrop - The War Room Podcast - Affordance AI
Wednesday, 02 May 2007

Image

EA has released yet another Airdrop!

"In this edition of The War Room, the official Medal of Honor podcast, I sat down to talk to Tim Ford and Matt Tonks about everything that makes the Affordance engine not only cool, but absolutely necessary for a game with as much choice as Airborne gives you. Tim and Matt discuss the impetus for the idea, and how it’s grown over time. They also answer several questions from the community about AI awareness, behavior, personalities, usefulness of Allies, and more."

Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare ANNOUNCED!
Wednesday, 02 May 2007

Image

During the broadcasting of the NFL Draft this past weekend, Activision gave us a glimpse of what's been keeping the IW staff busy, and quiet from our perspective.  Introducing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.  IW is officially moving past WWII and we think it's about damn time as well.  The latest rumor is that IW plans to release COD4 this fall.  If this rumor holds any truth we're in for a great year with FH2, MOHA, and now this.  Talk about a complete makeover for our favorites.

IW has released what seems to be COD4's official site, titled Charlie-Oscar-Delta.  There's not much updated at this point but don't miss the trailer.  You can also view the trailer using this link hosted by AHGN.  Either right click and "save target as" which does let you resize once downloaded or just view it in the browser.

Planet Call of Duty seems to have some screenshots posted from the video for viewing.

Don't forget to head to our boards to discuss the news!  COD4 Announcement Thread
